A bit about Zoe
Zoe Georgakis Singer/ Musician (Piano)/ Actor/ Performer/ Presenter
Zoe began her professional career as a child actor in the Brisbane Youth Theatre and then as a teen resident actor at the Channel 7 studios. Job Spot and weekly stints in The Fearless Five (a live weekly segment that appeared on The Super Sunday show), as well as the lead in Agro’s Christmas Special as ‘Stella’ the Christmas elf were enjoyed by audiences all before she was 16.
Zoe graduated from UWS Theatre Nepean, with a Bachelor of Performing Arts in 1995 and spent the next several years in Sydney acting in the ad circuit (Sydney Lotteries, Pantene, Nine MSN, Sanitarium So Good), taking on small roles in Australian TV series such as Murder Call and recording music as a session singer, original songwriter, pianist and cabaret performer (credits including vocals on ‘Babe II: Pig in the City” and a number of collaborations with Philip Griffin). Concurrent to this, Zoe was a singer in numerous acapella groups (including The Hummingbirds, and Sorelle), where she toured with Musica Viva through Western Australia and Northern NSW.
Upon returning to Brisbane in 2007, Zoe continued her work in various vocal ensembles as a singer, performer and presenter. The Brisbane Jazz Club saw her perform as part of a trio in “Gin and Sin” and in jazz shows with some of the best instrumentalists in town. Most recently, Zoe played Josephine Bedford and the Serbian Colonel, Sonda in the Matilda Award-winning musical “A Girl’s Guide to World War” on the Sunshine Coast. Zoe has a Masters in Music (Vocal Pedagogy) and sings a span of genres from jazz, blues, musical theatre, and contemporary covers, all the way to traditional Macedonian folk music.
